Salford’s high streets and public spaces are set for a major boost with the council getting its hands on £1.5m of funding. The city will be getting payments of £750,000 per year over two years from the government, to be used for creating or refurbishing community areas, boosting parks and outdoor facilities, and for shops and town centres.
It has to be committed for use by the end of March 2027 and what the cash will be used for is to be decided through talks with MPs and ‘local stakeholders’ in Salford .
During a cabinet meeting on December 9, the council welcomed the extra cash and agreed to move ahead with discussions over how the money can be put to use. View 2 Images
