ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Governor Larry Rhoden has announced that Future Fund has given $1 million to Aberdeen’s two new business parks.

Currently, Aberdeen has one vacant development property available, which developers said is needed for two new business parks.

Locals and private investors have already raised $7 million for the project.

“This investment is bold enough to seize opportunity, but it is also wise enough to prepare for the future in a responsible, sustainable way,” said Rhoden. “I do not doubt that it will propel South Dakota towards an even brighter future.”

Rhoden made the full announcement on Tuesday at Northern State University, during the grand opening of the university’s new Lincoln Business School building.
