KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. – The National Weather Service's flood warning for Kittitas County remains in effect, despite lighter rain and slightly reduced water levels. The warning is set to last until Friday, December 12 at 4 p.m.

Residents in the Elk Meadows, Pine Glen and Sun Island neighborhoods along the Yakima River are experiencing partial or full road coverage by floodwaters. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and avoid driving through water.

The following roads are closed, according to the Kittitas County Sheriff:

SR10 is still closed between SR970 and Thorp with no announced time for reopening.

SR906 remains closed between Hyak Drive and Yellowstone Trail Road after flowing water undermined and destroyed a section of the road. Businesses and residences are still accessible
