Cambridge Shelter Corporation’s medical respite program, BridgeCare, is preparing to move into a new home on Hespeler Road.
The organization purchased the former Community Living building at 160 Hespeler Rd. in September and has been renovating it ahead of an open house Monday.
Clients are expected to transition into the space the following day.
The move was driven by the October lease expiry of its previous location on Concession Street.
Executive director Wayne Paddick said the new location already feels like the right fit.
“It’s right by the police station and right across from a pharmacy and a medical building … it’s a really good location for us.”
Paddick said being in a non-residential area also helps, especially given the stigma that can come with homelessness and shelter prog
