SANTA MONICA, California — Jubilant Sykes, the Grammy-nominated baritone known for his powerful voice and career, was found stabbed to death in his Santa Monica home Monday night, and police have taken his son into custody as the suspect, according to the Associated Press .
ABC7 Los Angeles reported officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an assault around 9:20 p.m. at a home on Delaware Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered Sykes, 71, with critical injuries consistent with a stabbing. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The AP reported inside the home, officers found 31-year-old Micah Sykes, the singer’s son, who was arrested without incident on suspicion of homicide. Police said they recovered a weapon from the scene and that
