Man Sexually Assaulted Child In Elmwood Park Home: Prosecutor

A 27-year-old man was arrested on accusations he sexually assaulted a child at a home in Bergen County, authorities said.

Alonso E. Juarez Rojano, of Elmwood Park, was arrested after an investigation found that Rojano sexually assaulted the child on Dec. 6, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Charging documents obtained by Daily Voice say the victim was less than 13 years old and at least four years younger than Rojano.

 Authorities were notified of the alleged assault on Monday, Dec. 8, and the following day, after an investigation, Rojana was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, Musella said.

The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Elmwood Park Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno.

Rojano was lodged in the county jail pending a detention hearing.
