As winter intensifies in the north, east, and central zones, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for cold-wave conditions, thick fog, and strong winds.

According to the weather forecast, cold-wave conditions are ‘very likely’ in isolated locations over a wide range of states, including Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka, Telangana, Vidarbha, and a few other areas.

Meanwhile, isolated parts in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Odisha are expected to have early-morning intense fog on December 10–11, and isolated areas in the northeast, including Assam and Manipur, are expected to experience severe fog on December 10–14.
