After requesting an "expedited emergency declaration from the federal government" on Wednesday afternoon, Governor Bob Ferguson announced that he activated the National Guard in response to the flooding across Washington State.
"By tonight, we'll have 100 National Guard service members staging, ready to respond to requests for help," Ferguson stated. "Tomorrow, we'll have 300."
Governor Ferguson released another statement on Wednesday evening reporting that a potential 100,000 Washington residents will be facing evacuation orders do to the flooding.
"We expect rivers to hit historic levels as early as 4 a.m. tomorrow, lasting into Friday morning," Ferguson said.
