Four times in just one week around Thanksgiving, drivers in Connecticut ended up on railroad tracks instead of the road.
It caused delays and even a completely destroyed car. Fortunately, nobody was injured, said CTDOT Supervising Rail Officer Rob Bradway.

“It can be motorists who are unfamiliar with the area, people who are visiting friends and families for the holidays or going to visit holiday venues and may be unfamiliar with the area. They get blinded by oncoming traffic and unfortunately mistake the railroad tracks for the road,” Bradway said.
In some cases, GPS instructions can be confusing for drivers, Bradway said.
