The Glendale City Council heard plans for another, smaller piece of the VAI Resort puzzle during its Dec. 9 workshop.

VAI and the city are considering shared access driveway easement and maintenance agreement on a road that functions as a driveway. It is on the parcel just east of the Black Lot of State Farm Stadium.

Originally, Glendale was going to sell this land to VAI. The city owns 14 acres of parcels marked for future development east of the driveway.

“This is one of the most favorable solutions for our citizens and the city,” Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps said. “What we did is we said to VAI, that we do not want to shrink our future development parcel greatly.”
