When the Sandra Day O’Connor High School boys basketball team is on the floor at maximum speed during a game, their coaches’ eyes are watching.
Not just for shots, or for correct rotations on set plays.
The Eagles, who were 6A state runners-up in 2024 and are off to a 6-4 start this winter, are under the watchful eye of head coach Josh Cole and his staff when it comes to the players’ conditioning. Basketball is a long season, and some players might report to camp in November in less than ideal shape, or by the time the February playoff grind rolls around, their bodies and minds might be gassed.
