MAYFIELD, Ky. —
Wednesday marked four years since a deadly tornado outbreak in western Kentucky killed dozens of people and injured hundreds more.

The tornadoes flattened what was once a candle factory with more than 100 people inside, eight of whom died.
Debris from destroyed buildings and shredded trees covered the ground in Mayfield, a city of about 10,000 people.
On Wednesday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear remarked on the communities’ “resilience” in a social media post, saying hundreds of homes and rental units have been built since the tornadoes ripped through.
