LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Christmas can be a hard time for many, especially those who don’t have family around. That’s where the Lansing Fire Department and a number of other local safety departments come in.

They’re keeping the holiday spirit alive by helping out some older members of the community with No Seniors Without Christmas (NSWC.)

“As people age, they lose some of their independence,” said Deputy Trenten Ernst of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department. “And with that lost independence, they lose connection to people.”

“I got your stuff in the car from No Senior Without Christmas. I’m gonna bring it in if you don’t mind,” Ernst said.
