SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested after allegedly striking an officer in downtown San Antonio.

Around 3:30 p.m., officials responded to the intersection of Alamo Plaza and East Commerce Street after reports of a disturbance.

Preliminary information from a law enforcement officer on the scene suggests the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Julio Becerra, began being combative and fighting with police before they struck an officer and were placed under arrest.

Officials say Becerra is possibly facing a charge of assault on a public servant.

This is an ongoing investigation.
