The Michigan Wolverines decided to fire head coach Sherrone Moore, according to multiple reports, marking one of the more shocking moves of the college football season.

Moore led the Wolverines to a 9-3 record in 2023, though the football program has moved on from him after he violated one of its policies, per Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel.

"U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member," the university said.

For the Cirtus Bowl game against the Texas Longhorns on Dec. 31, Biff Poggi will serve as the interim head coach.
