STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Proudly standing at the ground level of a Bay Street office building, the Center for Family Representation officially opened its brick-and-mortar doors to Staten Islanders on Wednesday.
Filled with community members, representatives from borough-based organizations, and leadership from the center, the bustling space was filled with laughter and holiday cheer.
The center is a haven for low-income families struggling to battle the city’s Administration for Children’s Services for parental rights and the foster care system.
Offering client services that include legal representation, social work, immigration aid, criminal defense, and benefit applications, the center is sewing itself into the fabric of the borough by helping families stay together.
