Vandalism at a popular mountain biking trail in Palm Bay has caused concern for riders.
Not only was the park tagged with graffiti, but hateful symbols were drawn on some of the signage and ramps.
Brevard Mountain Bike Association President Glen Dunnam said that over the years, he has invested in the Grapefruit Trail to make sure it is safe and inclusive. He first visited the trail in 2009 with his kids.
“I just fell in love with this place,” Dunnam said.
He said he was crushed to see swastikas, “white power” symbols and curse words tagged throughout the park.
“It’s normal to see little things here and there, but to see the kind of destruction that happened literally overnight — and the amount of it — was just devastating,” Dunnam said.
