UPDATE: Harold Wayne Nichols is set to be executed in less than 24 hours.

He has spent 35 years on Tennessee's Death Row for the rape and murder of Karen Pulley, 20.

Pulley's sister, Lisette Monroe, is in Nashville ahead of the execution, making the trip from Washington state to ensure justice for her little sister.

Speaking to Local 3 News during an airport layover while flying across the country, Monroe shares a little of what's going on in her mind.

"It's very much on wanting justice for Karen. And I'm trying to focus on her rather than all the negative," Monroe said.

Her younger sister, Karen, was 20 years old when Harold Wayne Nichols broke into her home and raped and murdered her in 1988.
