Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza is having a stellar college football season, with his team recently going undefeated in the regular season, defeating Ohio State for the conference championship, and landing the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.

However, before they face a team in their second-round CFP matchup, Mendoza is on the short list of finalists for various awards, including the prestigious Heisman Trophy. He recently picked up another huge award just days before Saturday's ceremony in New York City.

During ESPN's “College Football Live,” they revealed that Mendoza won the 2025 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. Previous recipients included Caleb Williams, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow, and Cam Newton.
