Cooler temperatures will settle across South Florida for the next few days, delivering a more December-like feel to our weather.

Overnight lows will drop into the middle and upper 50s Thursday and Friday under mostly clear skies.

This will serve as a pleasant transition from the recent stretch of elevated humidity and above-average temperatures.

Even with the return of sunny skies, afternoon highs will trend slightly below average through Friday.

Thursday’s high of 76 and Friday’s high of 78 will mark the coolest afternoons the area has seen since late November.

A gradual warming trend will return by Sunday as rain chances increase Sunday and Monday.

Even then, afternoon highs are still expected to remain in the upper-70s to lower 80s well into next week.
