We still have a frigid weekend to contend with, but the long term forecast is starting to give us some warmer temperatures in time for Christmas week.

NOAA's 8-to-14 day outlook finally sees Arctic air moving out of the U.S. and most of the nation, including the Ohio Valley, putting together a string of some warmer than normal temperatures.

For the period of Dec. 18-24, the region with the largest margin above normal includes the lower Mississippi Valley and expands northward to include all of Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.

Paducah's historical normal high temperature on Christmas week is 47 degrees.
