All the money in the world could only buy the St. John’s College Green Eagles a single goal against Brantford Collegiate Institute on Wednesday at the Gretzky Centre.

Unfortunately, SJC needed a couple more than that as the Mustangs (1-2) defeated the Green Eagles 2-1 in an Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk girls hockey game.

“We literally couldn’t buy a goal,” said SJC coach Andrina Shannelly, whose team fell to 1-3 on the season.

“We literally had 20 chances on their goalie.”

Goal scoring has been an issue for the Green Eagles this season and Shannelly feels there are at least a couple of reasons for that.

First, the goalies in the league are outstanding.
