A program helping London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) patients transition from hospital to home is freeing up beds across the city’s hospitals, officials say.
Launched in November 2024, the LHSC to Home program provides eligible patients with personalized care at their residence for up to 16 weeks after discharge, said Tammy Quigley, vice-president of Cancer, Renal, Mental Health and Patient Flow. She said the program has been a major success in creating capacity while supporting patients at home.

“It’s an incredibly important program, and I will say I’ve worked in health care for over 30 years, and this program is a game-changer for us,” Quigley said.
