WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A rumored video showing the deadly stabbing at North Forsyth High School is circulating online, despite repeated requests from police, the sheriff’s office and the school district urging the public not to share it.

Parents say the video has spread quickly across social media platforms, particularly among students. Several posts inside the popular “Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School Parent Support” Facebook group drew hundreds of reactions Tuesday as families expressed grief, anger and frustration.

Some parents criticized the fact that the video was recorded at all. Others questioned why students stood by and filmed instead of seeking help. A number of commenters asked whether the person who recorded the video, or those who shared it, could face charges.
