WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A message from Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan confirmed the reassignment of a WPD officer in connection with a video that’s circulated on social media. That video, Chief Sullivan said, “shows concerning and inappropriate behavior while on duty.”
“At my direction, the officer was immediately removed from patrol and assigned to administrative duties,” the WPD chief said.
Chief Sullivan said he is taking any concerns that the video raised seriously and confirmed that, “The Professional Standards Bureau is conducting an internal investigation into the video and the officer’s conduct.”
In his message to Wichitans, the WPD chief emphasized the trust placed in his department and that he “[does] not take that trust for granted.”
