Imphal, December 10 2025: Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata has appealed to the people to embrace the path of peace and reconciliation.

Conveying his message for Nupi Lan Day which falls on December 12, the Speaker said that the Nupi Lan movements of 1904 and 1939 were not mere protests but an explosion of defiance, demand for justice and the birth of Manipur's political awakening.

"Their legacy burns within us as a fire that will never die," he said and added that the Nupi Lan Day reminds people that ordinary citizens, especially women hold the power to bend history.

When people unite no empire, no injustice, no division can silence their voice, he said.
