ETS, the creator of the TOEFL test, will introduce major enhancements to TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) from January 21, 2026.

The redesigned test will feature multistage adaptive testing, score reporting within 72 hours, noise cancellation headphones at test centres and a new test centre in Kalol.

Adaptive format, updated content

On the TOEFL experience day in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Sidnei Rodrigues de Souza, Executive Director, Global Partnerships & Sales Management, ETS, outlined improvements for students at over 13,000 centres worldwide.

TOEFL is accepted for English language assessment in more than 160 countries and 13,500 institutes across the world.
