Springfield police arrested two men as a result of an investigation into the shooting of a boy Tuesday afternoon. But as of Wednesday afternoon, no charges had been filed in connection with the shooting, according to the police department.
Officers responded to Main and Union Streets for a report of a gunshot victim around 4 p.m. and found him on the 100 block of William Street, Springfield police said in a press release . The boy had non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators believe the shooting resulted from a fight that happened near the intersection of Main and Winthrop Streets, police said. Officers received information suggesting that two people who had fled the scene of the shooting had then run into a home on Acush
