A woman was sentenced to more than two years to prison for embezzling over $1.6 million from a charity organization that helps young people, according to the US Department of Justice.
The DOJ said 62-year-old Carrie Lynn Grant, of Pleasant Hill, was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for embezzling over $1.6 million from a Northern California charity organization that helps prepare young people to “succeed in a global economy.”
Authorities report Grant was the finance manager of the charity, and between November 2017 to June 2023, she abused her role to deposit charity money into her personal account while creating fraudulent records to cover her tracks.
