Ex- Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore has been detained by police.

According to ESPN's Dan Wetzel , police in Saline, Michigan "assisted in locating and detaining Moore" and turned it over to Pittsfield Township for an investigation into potential charges.

Asked about Moore a little after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Saline Police Chief Marlene A. Radzik referred comment to the Pittsfield Charter Township Police Department. Multiple department representatives did not immediately return messages.

The news comes after Moore was fired for cause earlier Wednesday, Dec. 10, after a Michigan investigation allegedly found "credible evidence" that "Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member."

At this time it's not clear what he was detained for.
