A federal judge has again ordered the Trump administration to end its deployment of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles, ruling the federal government kept troops in place illegally after the summer’s “emergency conditions” had passed. President Trump had federalized several thousand Guard members in June during demonstrations over immigration raids, later reducing the number to about 100. Governor Gavin Newsom, who sued over the deployment, filed a new request for an injunction last month. The administration is expected to appeal.
