COLUMBUS, Ohio — A reckless homicide complaint was filed against a 14-year-old in connection with an accidental shooting that left an 11-year-old girl dead, the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office said Wednesday.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office said Amya Frazier was pronounced dead at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on Monday after she was shot in the Hilltop.

The Columbus Division of Police was called to a house in the 200 block of South Wheatland Avenue on Dec. 5, where officers found the girl with a gunshot wound.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a non-intentional shooting between family members.

It is unclear whether any charges were filed for anyone else involving the case.

The incident remains under investigation.
