MOULTRIE COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- Former Harrisburg Pastor Danny Varnadore Jr. is facing two criminal sexual assault charges in Moultrie County.

Varnadore is accused of sexual criminal misconduct dating back to January 2024. Eldorado police arrested him in early December and extradited him to Moultrie County, where the warrant was issued.

Varnadore, who previously served as the pastor of Lighthouse Apostolic Faith Church in Harrisburg, stepped down from his position last week.

During a court hearing on Monday, Varnadore waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

He also entered a plea of not guilty and, through his counsel, requested a jury trial, said court documents.

The court scheduled a pre-trial date for January 14, with a jury trial set for January 26.
