DUNCAN, S.C. —

A bridge crossing over Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, has been closed for repairs after a crash involving a semi-truck.

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, units with the Duncan Fire Department and Wellford Fire Department responded to a collision at mile marker 64 on I-85 South.

When crews arrived, they determined that a semi-truck carrying equipment struck the Nazareth Road overpass, causing damage to the bridge.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation responded and advised that the bridge would need to be closed immediately for repairs until further notice.

The collision also resulted in lane closures on I-85 for an extended period of time Tuesday night.
