Auburn native becomes first woman to call Indy Fuel games

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Butler senior, Eva Hallman lands play-by-play opportunity after three-year internship with hockey team.

At six months old, Eva Hallman attended her first hockey game with the Fort Wayne Komets.

“My mom likes to also say that I went to Komets games when I was in the womb,” Hallman said.

Now the Butler University senior is calling the plays as the first woman to do play-by-play broadcasting for the Indy Fuel.

The Auburn native grew up loving the game. Her freshman year of college, she shadowed her idol, Komets broadcaster Shane Albarani.

“He knows the players and he knows the style and he knows everything,” Hallman said.

Albarani said he hopes to inspire young broadcasters like Hallman.
