COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Columbia police (CPD) arrested a suspect on multiple charges Wednesday evening after a woman was found dead in a Columbia home.

According to Police Chief W.H. ‘Skip’ Holbrook, 42-year-old Eleazar Del Valle was charged after being detained at the crime scene and transported to CPD HQ for questioning by investigators.

CPD said officers responded to the 2300 block of Byrnes Drive at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, where a woman was found unresponsive inside the home.

According to police, the victim and suspect were in a relationship.

Investigators claim Del Valle Jeronimo was arguing with the victim before he allegedly used a sharp object to kill her.
