COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -A Midlands man is taking on quite a challenge this weekend: R unning 200 miles across South Carolina to raise money for Young Life, a Christian organization that helps send students to camp.

Michael Davis, who began running just a few years ago, started his journey at midnight Friday on the Awendaw Passage near Charleston. He plans to finish at Riverfront Park in Columbia by Sunday afternoon — with only three one-hour naps in a van along the way.

“Doing something like this is really a pipe dream,” Davis said. “It’s something you think about but never really do.”

Davis ran his first marathon in Kiawah Island in 2022 and has since completed multiple marathons and ultra-marathons, including five 100-mile races. He said those experiences taught him lessons he could
