The Bee Cave Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man accused of stealing “more than 30 packages” and mail. Anthony Zarate, 28, is facing multiple charges: Mail theft, a 2nd degree felony, fraudulent use of identifying information and unlawful possession of a criminal instrument, which are both state jail felonies.
Officers received multiple reports of mailbox theft in the Falconhead subdivision on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8, said Bee Caves Police. This prompted the department to investigate the case.
On Tuesday, a Bee Cave Police officer pulled over a driver in a vehicle that matched the description seen on surveillance cameras. During the stop, officers saw “several packages inside the vehicle that were not addressed to the driver,” the department said.
