It’s becoming harder and harder to see anything or anyone getting in the way of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The reigning NBA champs are well on their way to a second trophy — the in-season kind, this time — after dispatching the Phoenix Suns 138-89 in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup on Wednesday night.
As with most of their games this season, this showdown was never particularly close. The Thunder came out of the gates with a 38-23 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, building their lead all the way up to 43 points before pulling their starters at the end of the third.
They were led by another MVP-worthy performance from superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with 28 minutes, two rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block. Centre Chet Holmgren followed it up
