EAST LANSING- Max Bullough, Traverse City St. Francis grad and former Michigan State linebacker, will return to MSU as linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, according to reports by SpartanMag and On3.
Bullough, who played under former MSU coach Mark Dantonio, was an All-Big Ten selection in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and served as team captain in 2012 and 2013. He led MSU to a Big Ten Championship in 2013 before playing three years in the NFL for the Houston Texans.
Bullough began his coaching career shortly after his NFL stint, serving as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati, Alabama, and Notre Dame. He was named Notre Dame’s linebackers coach in 2024 and has held that position since.
Bullough will join Spartans defensive coordinator Joe Rossi in a co-defensive coordinator/linebacke
