Look, if you don’t want to celebrate Greenville’s own baseball legend Shoeless Joe Jackson by listening to a group of vocalists bellowing out a sea shanty, are you even a real Upstate resident?
The celebration I’m talking about is called the Shoeless Joe Folk Festival, which hits The Artistry Gallery and Workshops on Andrews Street in downtown Greenville on the evening of Dec. 12.
The festival features local performers such as the aforementioned Reedy River Chantey Choir, folk/Americana singer-songwriter Julia Ruby, Celtic folk performer Bridget Brennan and the one and only TC Costello, Greenville’s resident accordion-pumping madman who pops up all over town either busking or performing onstage.
In fact, Costello is the co-organizer of the Shoeless Joe Folk Festival. He said the spirit
