Pune, December 11, 2025: Amid a rising number of accidents on the Vishrantwadi–Alandi Road in Pune, local activists staged a symbolic protest on Wednesday by performing an aarti of the accident-prone divider along the partially completed BRT corridor. The demonstration aimed to highlight what residents describe as dangerous road conditions caused by poor planning and lack of timely action by civic authorities.

Social worker Sachin Bhosale, who led the protest, criticised the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) for leaving the BRT stretch incomplete, resulting in ongoing mishaps. Despite continuous complaints over the past two years, locals say the authorities have failed to make the stretch safer.
