MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - Officers with the Mishawaka Police Department participated in the annual “Christmas with a Cop” event on Wednesday night at the Meijer store on Grape Road.
Members of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91 accompanied more than 70 children for a night of Christmas shopping.
Patrolman Andrew Bauer said the event is one of his favorites of the year.
“This is one of my favorite events of the year. We get to give back to the community and give back to those in need. Really support the community that supports us year-round,” Bauer said. “There’s not much better feeling than coming back and taking these kids shopping. This might be the only time they get something for Christmas. It’s with our help and feels really good.”
Mission BBQ also participated in the event. Th
