A major clean-up operation has followed Bonfire Night celebrations that saw crowds flock to more than 40 sites in one area of a North East town alone.

The newly formed Neighbourhood Caretakers joined forces with Middlesbrough Council's Area Care teams to help tidy affected sites, including one on Homerton Road, near Middlebeck Social Club.

The teams used seven tonnes of topsoil and grass seeds to help scorched areas flourish with new grass growth in spring.
