Bishop Auckland is to be lit up this weekend by the warm glow of lanterns in a free event.

The Little Light Lantern Walk, on Saturday (December 13), will begin with a story from Santa Claus in the Newgate Centre at 3.30pm, with the walk starting ten minutes later.

There will also be a family Christmas service at St Anne's Church following the walk.

When is the walk?

The walk is happening on Saturday (December 13), and will begin in the Newgate Centre at 3.30pm with a story from Santa Claus.

The walk will then leave the Newgate Centre at 3.40pm and finish just before 4pm. After that, there will be a family Christmas service at St Anne's Church at 4pm.

Elves from the Newgate Centre will also be joining the walk, singing a few festive carols.
