Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) rules mean Universal Credit claimants must report changes - or risk their benefits being stopped. Claimants may not be aware of certain changes in circumstances which must be reported to the DWP or it could affect their entitlement or payments.

The DWP warns: "You could be taken to court or have to pay a penalty if you give wrong information or do not report a change in your circumstances."
