The Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair next week for those affected by Amazon's indefinite closure of its Port of Little Rock facility, an Amazon spokesman said Wednesday.
The job fair will take place at Pulaski Technical College on Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. It's designed to help those who lost their jobs when the facility closed last month, according to Little Rock Port Authority Executive Director Bryan Day. The facility employed about 4,600 full-time and seasonal employees.
Amazon said it closed the 3.6-million-square-foot facility last month because of "significant structural repairs" that need to be made to meet local seismic codes.
