TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A statement put out by Tucson Mayor Regina Romero on the morning of a Homeland Security investigation in the city was met with mixed reaction by residents.
On Wednesday, ICE Homeland Security Investigators served warrants at a business park that includes AG Trucking, located near Flowing Wells and Miracle Mile.
HSI said the warrants were related to “cabotage violations and unlawful labor practices.”
13 News asked Mayor Romero why federal agents were conducting a search warrant in the area. She admitted she did not know what was taking place, but took to social media around 9 a.m., telling residents, in part:
“You have the right to protest and document these activities. It is very important to remain peaceful while you do so.”
