STOCKTON, Calif. —

A Stockton recovery program is turning to music to honor victims of violence and offer the city a new path forward after a mass shooting that killed four people and injured 13 others .

At Lotus Rising Recovery Services in downtown Stockton, help is available to anyone who needs it. The program looks at societal problems and individual problems and provides services to meet people where they are.

Many who walk their hallways have been directly touched by violence.

“I recently lost a son a few years back to gun violence, gang violence,” Dennis Delsied said. “It’s time for change. Time for something to happen, something different.”

“I’m here because my brother was a victim of gun violence,” Eric McKinney added.
