A new flu strain has been battering Britain over the last few weeks.

The "subclade K" variant now makes up 90 per cent of cases in the UK, after a "genetic drift" over the summer caused the Influenza A H3N2 strain to mutate.

Now, numerous sufferers have come forward to share the hard hitting impact of this flu variant.

Jessica Hunter, who goes by @jessicahunter566 on TikTok, shared a video of her experience with the new superflu, which garnered over a million views.

The 22-year-old filmed herself looking into the camera, captioning the video: "So did we all have the flu where we couldn't eat, couldn't get out of bed for 5/6 days, slept all day every day, had the worst headache, fever, nausea and could not function."
